The client had a beautiful site set admist lush vegetated landscapes. There was a Mango tree at the centre of the plot so we thought it’d be wise to work around it. Thus the concept of the house around the tree was developed. The house was virtually split into 3 distinct zones, the public on the right, the courtyard on the centre and the private areas on the left. Every spaces converge into the central courtyard which houses the mango tree. Traditional roofs and locally sourced laterite stone was used to tackle climate in the region and to promote local craftsmanship. All rooms were given large windows which open out into the lush greens inside and outside.
