A project that deals with connectivity and the capital city of Malta. Valletta intrinsically was designed as a war machine to keep enemies out. Today Valletta is on par with any other cosmopolitan European capital city housing the country’s most important governmental institutions, high street shops, entertainment, bars, restaurants, museums, attracting hundreds of tourists within its walls every day. Due to its original design and function the city suffers from connectivity. Through the years interventions have been made to improve its connectivity. In the spirit of these interventions this brief was to improve the connection at Marsamxetto into the city of Valletta. This university project was to improve the connection at Marsamxetto into the city. The task was to design a small lift and staircase on the corner of the bastion to facilitate passage into the city.
