Urban environment generally encourages individuality and urban housing developments reflect this philosophy. Mumbai, called as the Economic Capital of India, is the epitome of individual growth where one’s life is confined to to his/ her house. However, an individual can thrive better when he/ she in a community environment. A community can be formed when people found some commonality with their neighbors. It has collective action and generates solutions to common problems and work towards economic, social, environmental and cultural well being. Community-based organizations aggregate resources, ideas, and actors with the shared goal of improving the future of a place to the benefit of the people who live there. Occupation based communities where people live and work have stronger bonds and develop an economic base and micro culture that adds to the environment wherever they are located.
