Malecón la Herradura, Chorrillos, Lima, Perú
My thesis project proposes the revaluation of the circus show in Peru, through the construction of a Center for Training and Dissemination of Circus Arts because there is a deficit of specialized spaces for teaching. That is why, in order to carry out the formal approach, it was necessary to inquire into the primary spatial needs and functions. In this case, our main users are the students and educators of the training center, for which reason, they are proposing that the classrooms both theoretical and practical comply with a correct distribution, lighting, ventilation and above all that the spatiality is adequate for an optimal performance and use of the facilities. The materials chosen for this project are: exposed cement, red steel and glass, because they give us uniformity, simplicity and purity within the spaces.
We also keep the building as a whole, which allows us to have an identity and character within the existing urban environment without altering it. With regard to its location, the pre-existence is in beautiful a boardwalk south of the capital of Peru, surrounded by nature. Therefore, one of the main strategies is to maintain this close connection with the sea, which, when the tide rises, can enter the building.
