They redirect groundwater away from the foundation, reducing pressure. French drains can be installed on the exterior or interior, though exterior installation provides the most effective protection against hydrostatic pressure.

Use Sump Pumps:

Sump pumps are installed in sump pits within the basement. They collect excess water directed by the drainage system and pump it away from the foundation, keeping water levels lower around the basement.
