Design Doha returns for its second edition from April 16 to June 30, 2026, expanding its footprint across the city of Doha. The biennial reinforces Qatar’s position as a growing center for design, architecture, and cultural exchange within the broader MENA region.
As part of its programming, Design Doha launched an Open Call for Exhibition Proposals, inviting curators, cultural institutions, architecture schools, design studios, and collectives to submit concepts that engage with the region’s cultural heritage and contemporary design discourse. Selected exhibitions will be presented across multiple venues in Doha throughout the biennial run.
Who Was Eligible to Apply
The open call targeted mid-career and established curators operating within or in connection to the MENA region — including the GCC, Levant, and North Africa — as well as international curators working directly with MENA-based designers. Collaborative teams and collectives were also eligible.
Proposals were accepted across a broad range of design disciplines:
- Architecture & Urban Design
- Furniture & Product Design
- Graphic & Digital Design
- Sustainable & Regenerative Design
- Experimental & Conceptual Practices
What Design Doha Provides
Selected exhibitors receive a dedicated venue, marketing and PR support, and inclusion in the official Biennale calendar. Costs related to production, logistics, shipping, installation, and intellectual property rights remain the responsibility of the exhibitors.
