The Red Wall Residence stands as a remarkable example of how contemporary architecture can seamlessly merge with a tropical setting. The design team prioritized accentuating the essence of form through rationalist elements like clean lines, geometric volumes, and striking hues, thereby crafting visuals and areas that effortlessly meld with the surrounding natural elements. To achieve this effect, a red-toned material palette, featuring imported red stone from Agra, was selected to set the structure apart against the lush green backdrop. This grand, attention-grabbing masterpiece in its reddish hue beautifully coexists with the surrounding nature.
The residence boasts two distinct courtyards, each with its own unique design and purpose. The main courtyard graces the north side of the living room, while the second courtyard, nestled between the living room and dining area, serves as a tranquil gazebo with water features. Additionally, the kitchen is strategically positioned in the South-East corner of the house, ensuring a steady flow of wind and natural light. The ground floor houses three en suite bedrooms, each offering framed views of the private courtyards and the surrounding landscape. On the upper floor, there are two intimate bedrooms, each equipped with a suite and a family gathering area that captures the splendid views of the internal courtyards. The study is ingeniously designed as a floating mezzanine volume, accessible via the main staircase.
In terms of interior design, the predominant choice of rustic materials, fluid layouts, and a palette of natural tones creates a soothing atmosphere. The muted indoor color scheme provides a delightful contrast to the vibrant red facade, imbuing the spaces with a bright and inviting ambiance. The interior decor incorporates a blend of Western contemporary furniture and customized Indian contemporary pieces, featuring shades of gray, beige, and rustic wood. This residence aims to offer a haven for retreat and relaxation while facilitating various interactions between spaces and the landscape. Its structure seamlessly integrates with the natural surroundings, evoking a sense of openness and freshness for all who inhabit these spaces.
The Red Wall Residence also places a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability. The architects carefully considered the orientation of the building to maximize natural ventilation and light, reducing the reliance on artificial heating and cooling.
