The Units as a metaphor for a garage in which a lot of big companies had their first office, like Apple and Microsoft. By placing all these ‘garages’ over each other, a dynamic vertical village arises. The startups will inspire, collaborate across sectors, exchange knowledge and produce unexpected and paradigm-shifting creations.
In General, geometric order is a result of design and planning, and chaos – is created by self-organizing processes, the main idea of this project is to reflect the chaotical attitude of urban planning in west Beirut and blurring the boundaries between chaos and order on many levels: form/ structure/ spatial configuration/ program (integration of facilities).
