Our Commitment
illustrarch is committed to making its content accessible to the widest possible audience, including readers who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, or browser zoom.
Standards We Aim For
We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This is an ongoing effort across thousands of articles rather than a one-time project.
What We Do
- Descriptive alternative text on editorial images
- A logical heading structure on articles for screen-reader navigation
- Sufficient color contrast in our reading experience, in both light and dark contexts
- Keyboard-reachable navigation, search, and article content
- Readable font sizes and support for browser zoom up to 200%
Known Limitations
Some older articles, embedded third-party media (videos, maps, social media embeds), and advertising served by external partners may not fully meet the standards above. We prioritize fixes on our most-read content first.
