TraMod ACADEMY has opened the call for submissions for TraMod AWARDS 2026, the fourth edition of the world’s first international award dedicated to the interactions between tradition and modernity in architecture and design. Entries are open now and close on 30 November 2026.
If your work engages with cultures, societies, identity, history and the relationship between past, present and future, TraMod AWARDS is looking for it. The programme accepts both professional projects — built or unbuilt (concept) — and student projects, across four design disciplines. The awards are directed by Dr. Javad Eiraji and judged in Istanbul, Turkey.

Why Tradition + Modernity
TraMod ACADEMY is the world’s first international academy devoted to studying how tradition and modernity interact in architecture and design. The awards apply that lens to practice: entries are assessed on how convincingly a project reads its cultural, social and historical context and translates it into contemporary form. Work that treats identity, memory and vernacular knowledge as active design material — rather than surface decoration — is what the jury is asked to look for across all four disciplines.

- Opening announcement: August 2026
- Early bird registration & submission deadline: 10 October 2026
- Standard registration & submission deadline: 10 November 2026
- Late registration & submission deadline: 30 November 2026, 23:59 Istanbul time
- Longlists, shortlists, winners announcement & gala night: December 2026

Entry Fees & Submission Guide
Registration is free for students, which makes the student category one of the few no-cost routes into an international awards programme of this scale; it is worth weighing against the other open competitions and awards we are currently tracking. Professional entries are 100 USD. Entering earlier does not change the fee tier described above, but it does secure a place before the standard and late deadlines close.
Full submission requirements, board formats and file specifications are published in the organiser’s official guide: tramodacademy.com/submission-guide.
