Submission requirements: Designs go on the official template (Annex 1). The cover measures 24 × 32 cm including bleed; the design must fill the 24 × 29 cm area marked in grey. The cover is printed in four colour offset on 250 g matte coated paper with cellophane lamination. Submit a CMYK PDF at 300 DPI, no larger than 20 MB. Any use of AI tools must be declared.

Brief and documents (Turkish)

The TMMOB Chamber of Architects, İzmir Branch is inviting architecture students to design the cover of the January 2027 issue of Ege Mimarlık, its architecture magazine. Entry is free, the competition is open only to undergraduate architecture students in Turkey, and applications close on 16 November 2026, with results announced on 7 December 2026.

The issue is built around the theme of “Material.” The brief frames it widely: not only the physical properties of materials as a basic component of architecture, but also spatial experience, labour and the politics of supply chains, craft and local production, the redefinition of materials through digital fabrication, and the consumption and circularity of materials in the context of the climate crisis. The cover is expected to reflect that theme and convey the content of the issue.

Each participant or team may submit up to three designs, placed on the official template and delivered as a print ready CMYK PDF. Entrants must be student members of the TMMOB Chamber of Architects by the application date. Prizes are 75,000 TRY, 50,000 TRY and 25,000 TRY for the top three designs, and details of an exhibition will follow the jury evaluation. The brief and documents are in Turkish.
