UHA (Upton-Hansen Architects), a global practice working across architecture, masterplanning and interior design with offices from Lisbon to Tokyo, is looking for a senior interior designer or interior architect to join the interiors department of its London office near Waterloo. The listing was posted on 21 October 2026 and the application deadline is 8 November 2026; the salary is commensurate with experience, with no figure given.

The London studio’s interiors work includes Barnsbury Gallery, a late Georgian shopfront house in Islington’s Barnsbury Conservation Area that was once a fishmonger and has been converted into a three-bedroom family home.

The role

UHA wants a highly organised, autonomous designer who can develop design concepts with confidence and manage design documentation from concept to delivery, with particular strength in luxury FF&E sourcing and specification and an eye for the latest materials on the market.

  • Help develop design concepts with imagery, mood boards and furnishings
  • Present design ideas and concepts with confidence
  • Produce design documentation from concept to delivery
  • Coordinate with consultants and suppliers
  • Source and specify FF&E

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in interior design, architecture or a closely related field
  • At least four years of experience in an architectural or interior design practice
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe CC and modelling software such as SketchUp
  • Space planning, concept development and excellent documentation and detailing skills
  • The ability to take full ownership of tasks, manage time well and present ideas to colleagues and clients
  • Openness to feedback, comfort in a fast-changing studio and the ambition to grow with the practice

Rhino or Revit skills, line management experience, experience of working with remote teams and additional languages are all a plus.

The post is based at 3 Murphy Street, London SE1 7FP, working 40 hours a week from Monday to Friday. Benefits include 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays, one discretionary work from home day a week and a “digital fortnight” of up to two weeks of remote working a year.

How to apply

Apply via the application link by 8 November 2026. UHA will only consider applications made through its application form that include a portfolio link or upload.
