Twenty landmark buildings, each analysed on one A3 sheet with the same six diagrams: massing and form idea, plan organisation, circulation, light and section, structure and envelope, and the key concept. Every sheet adds a short summary, lessons for your own project and keywords, all in one shared colour key, so you can compare buildings side by side.
The set runs from E-1027 (1929) to the Hikma Religious and Secular Complex (2018), and 8 of the 20 buildings are by women-led or co-led practices. A short method guide and an unbranded blank template let you analyse any building you choose in the same way.

🧩 Formats and compatibility
PDF for printing at A3 and PNG for adding a sheet to your research boards. The blank template opens as SVG in Illustrator, Affinity Designer or Inkscape, as PPTX in PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides, or prints from the PDF. Its SVG text uses Inter, a free Google Font, with Arial as the fallback.
🎯 Who it is for
Architecture students doing precedent studies for studio, history and theory courses or thesis research, and tutors who want a consistent analysis format for a class.
💡 Good to know
- Free download.
- The diagrams are schematic abstractions drawn for the kit from published descriptions, not copies of the architects’ drawings, and not to scale. Architect, year and place were checked against published sources; verify dimensions and details against primary sources before relying on them.
- Free for personal study and teaching; you may print the sheets for yourself, your study group or your class.
- Delivered as a download link (Google Drive), 1 file, about 38 MB (46 files inside).
