The ninth edition of the interior architecture student project competition run each year by the Chamber of Interior Architects of Türkiye (TMMOB İçmimarlar Odası), im2026, is hosted this year by the Interior Architecture Department of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University’s Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture in Istanbul. Projects are due on 15 November 2026, and the award ceremony, digital exhibition and colloquium are planned for 29 January 2027.

How it works
im2026 is a national competition for students of interior architecture, and interior architecture and environmental design, departments in Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Rather than answering a new brief, students enter projects they produced in design studios and in furniture or lighting design courses during the 2025 to 2026 academic year. The organisers describe the competition as a meeting point for students and academics that strengthens the professional identity of interior architecture students. Projects are judged in three stages in five categories: first, second, third and fourth year, and furniture and lighting design.
