A lecture by Kashef Chowdhury, founder of the Dhaka-based architecture firm Kashef Chowdhury / URBANA, established in 1995. The talk takes its title from the practice’s first complete monograph, Meditations In Entropy.
About the Lecture
Over nearly three decades, Kashef Chowdhury / URBANA has built a wide-ranging body of work spanning different scales, typologies, and settings, much of it located in one of the world’s most demanding climates. In this lecture, Kashef Chowdhury presents a selection of projects drawn from the monograph, concentrating on work connected to culture, history, and climate change in Bangladesh.
These projects are described as pointed, critical responses to a range of pressing issues, grounded in the conviction that architecture should mirror and remain attentive to increasingly fragile ecological conditions.
