Laplace, the Paris practice founded by Luis Laplace and Christophe Comoy, is on the lookout for a skilled, driven, and ambitious project interior architect/project architect to join their Paris office. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of eight years of professional experience and be ready to contribute to high-end residential architectural and interior projects.
Role Responsibilities
This position necessitates a robust design sensibility along with the capability to oversee project delivery, coordinate teams and consultants under the guidance of the project manager, and uphold a high standard of quality throughout all project phases.
Key Profile Attributes:
- Leads project delivery from initial concept through design development and construction, with an emphasis on design quality, coordination, deadlines, and follow-through.
- Coordinates internal project teams and assists the project manager in managing external consultants, contractors, and specialist trades, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned across all disciplines.
- Plans and prioritizes project workloads, tracks progress against essential milestones, and anticipates issues that may require action or escalation.
- Oversees and contributes to the creation of construction details, architectural plans, schedules, specifications, and other documentation provided to consultants, contractors, and trades.
- Effectively manages project changes and design decisions, keeping the project manager informed and ensuring proper follow-up.
- Develops, critiques, and communicates strong architectural concepts, guiding their transformation into cohesive and well-executed built solutions.
- Combines solid technical judgment with a sophisticated approach to architecture and interior architecture, which includes detailing, interior fit-outs, and custom furniture.
- Possesses proven experience in high-end residential projects and a deep appreciation for contemporary art, design, and materiality.
- Exhibits a unique design perspective, creativity, and innovation while actively contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, and Enscape is essential.
- Confident in using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office for design development, project coordination, and producing high-quality presentations.
- Highly organized, proactive, and reliable, with strong presentation skills and the capability to make sound decisions, manage competing priorities, and work independently.
Employment Requirements
- A minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience.
- Must hold an EU passport.
- Must be based in Paris or willing to relocate at short notice.
- Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in French.
- Spanish proficiency is a plus but not mandatory.
- Prior experience in the UK would be advantageous.
