Green Roofs for Healthy Cities holds the twentieth CitiesAlive conference at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge from 30 September to 3 October 2026. The four day programme covers training, technical sessions, master classes, tours of New York green infrastructure projects and an exhibition, and registration runs through the conference site.

The CitiesAlive Conference celebrates its 20th Anniversary, focusing on how living architecture can enhance the resilience and adaptability of urban environments. This event will bring together numerous experts to discuss innovative research, design methodologies, products, policies, and services through a variety of formats including training sessions, technical presentations, master classes, tours, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.

Keynote Speakers

  • Daniel Sundlin, Partner and Architect at Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), involved in various international urban-scale initiatives, notably the East Side Coastal Resiliency project in New York City.
  • Rutger Huiberts, Director and Architect at MVRDV, responsible for projects and acquisitions in North America, including the redevelopment of Gansevoort Square in Manhattan through the firm’s New York Office.
  • Anthony Fieldman, AIA, LEED AP, Partner and Architect at DIALOG.
  • Jennifer Bousselot, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at Colorado State University.
  • Bill Browning, Hon AIA, LEED AP, Founding Partner and Managing Partner at Terrapin Bright Green.
